Levan helps the UMBC chess team with marketing, promotions, budgeting, travel arrangements, business plans, and recruiting new players. Levan has started working at his current position in August 2016 while finishing his last semester at UMBC, majoring in Financial Economics. Levan graduated in December 2016.
Some of his major accomplishments include: Winner of the first ever world championship in solving chess compositions, runner up of the world youth chess championship U-14, silver and bronze medal winner at European youth chess championships U-14 and U-16, winner of the National Chess Congress open tournaments (2013), five times winner of national chess championship under various age categories. Levan became an International Master in 2009. He is currently working on obtaining Grandmaster’s title.
Levan has been tutoring chess since 2009. He worked at 90th Public School of Tbilisi, Georgia 2010 – 2011. Levan has also worked at summer camps in the Saint Louis Chess Club and Scholastic Center – summer of 2014. He has published several educational chess articles on Chess.com (One of the biggest chess servers in the world).
