Music Academy: Classical Piano

Cost: $375

Open to High School students who are currently taking one-on-one lessons in Classical piano, the Piano Course is an exciting week of solo masterclasses and duet playing, culminating in a formal concert on the final afternoon. Participating students must arrive at the start of the course with two memorized solo pieces. Additional pieces are welcome. All duet parts will be sent to participants as soon as registration is complete. Supplemental activities may include harpsichord or organ instruction, as well as jazz improvisation and gamelan ensemble.

Prerequisite:

Student must be able to perform AT or BEYOND music of the level of difficulty of the J. S. Bach Two-Part Inventions, the Beethoven op. 49 Sonatinas, and Chopin Mazurkas (these are only examples of the degree of difficulty of repertoire – students’ actual repertoire can be by any Classical composers).
