String Institute provides middle school string players the opportunity to hone their skills and develop good playing habits. String players of all instruments (violin, viola, cello, and bass) are welcome. We will focus on a variety of topics, including fundamentals, chamber music, large string ensemble, and music theory. Participants will learn a lot about playing their instruments and have lots of fun doing it!
Middle school participants should be playing at a minimum level equivalent to Suzuki Book 3 with violins recommended to be at Suzuki Book 4 or higher. Please contact the instructor if you do not meet this playing level to see if accommodations can be made.
