The Repercussion Project: Build and Play Your Own Percussion Instrument

One Week: June 26-30, 2017
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Taught By: Steve McAlpine, Assistant Director
Interdisciplinary Studies
Target Group: Middle School (entering 6th – 8th)
Cost: $350

The Repercussion Project is an ongoing initiative to build percussion instruments out of “upcycled” materials – typically re-purposed buckets, PVC pipes, bottles, bicycle wheels and other resonate materials. Inspired by performing groups such as STOMP and the Blue Man Group, students will build their own percussion instruments, learn some basic rhythms, and prepare to perform at an end of the week live performance.
